When I first started teaching, I shared many of the same frustrations you might have, so I invested countless hours (and dollars) learning everything I could about how elementary students learn math.
I saw tremendous growth from all students when I focused on conceptual understanding through hands-on work instead of relying on textbooks and drilling students with math rules. I gained a new confidence and different outlook on teaching math so, of course, I want to share that with you!
If you're struggling as a math teacher or you're not fully confident in your understanding of the math you teach, you're not alone. I created Mix and Math Academy because teachers like you were asking questions like "how do I get students to truly understand dividing decimals?" or "how do you use pattern blocks to teach fractions?" or "that video was so helpful, do you have more?" I want to help you gain the knowledge it took me years to gain so you can teach math with confidence and creativity.

"I absolutely love the Mix and Math Academy resources. They are everything I've been looking for in resources that I want to use with my students to build their conceptual knowledge. They have helped so so much! Even the way students are discussing math and using math language has changed over the past five weeks!"
"I had to take a moment to say how excited I was about using manipulatives and resources from the Academy. Confession- I have never seen the value in using base ten blocks until now. I am so glad you talked about keeping the amounts fluid because in my example the typical “hundredths” were tenths. It took some getting used to for the kids but by the end of class it was clicking. And I felt like I was a better teacher because it wasn't about memorizing a rule but true understanding with the use of concrete tools. Thank you!!! Feeling a big win today!"
"The Mix and Math Academy has completely transformed the way I teach and talk about math in my classroom. Not only do the resources provided in the academy challenge my students, but they’ve challenged me as an educator to create more inquiry based content & allow my students to do the exploring!"
"I am working on place value in my 4th grade classroom. Yesterday I took the games that you show in your video and tweaked them a bit to fit my students' needs. My principal popped in and LOVED the game! He was so impressed and my kiddos were so engaged. Thank you for your support and resources!!"
